How to identify this edition
These points tell this edition apart from other printings and editions of The Outsider and Others.
✓ Dust jacket: a 1974 facsimile by Gerry de la Ree, photographically reproduced from an original rather than printed from the 1939 plates; slightly out of focus in places, on whiter, smoother paper, and it glows under UV light.
✓ Front flap: the $5.00 price appears on the facsimile too, so it does not prove an original jacket.
✓ Book: the 1939 Arkham House first edition underneath, black cloth with gilt spine lettering; only the jacket differs.
