How to identify this edition
These points tell this edition apart from other printings and editions of Tarantula.
✓ Copyright page: “FIRST PRINTING” stated above the Macmillan address, with “Copyright © 1966 by Bob Dylan / Copyright © 1971 The Macmillan Company”
✓ Dust jacket: black, “TARANTULA / BOB DYLAN” in a rust-orange panel above a black-and-white portrait of Dylan
✓ Price: $3.95 on the front flap (unclipped); later printings kept it, so the price alone doesn’t prove a first
✓ Binding: black cloth, spine lettered in gilt
