How to identify this edition
These points tell this edition apart from other printings and editions of My Family And Other Animals.
✓ Title page: “Rupert Hart-Davis, Soho Square, London, 1956”
✓ Binding: green cloth, spine lettered in silver
✓ Dust jacket: pictorial jacket by Ralph Thompson: owl, lizards and mantis around a pink framed scene
✓ Price: 18s net (18 shillings) on the front flap, or 16s net on a “Book Society Choice” label over it; later impressions are also priced 16s, so the price alone doesn’t prove a first
