How to identify this edition
These points tell this edition apart from other printings and editions of Flush: A Biography.
✓ Copyright page: “First published, October 1933” alone at the top, “Printed in Great Britain by R. & R. Clark, Limited, Edinburgh” at the foot
✓ Title page: “Published by Leonard and Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth Press, 52 Tavistock Square, London, W.C. 1933”
✓ Illustrations: four drawings by Vanessa Bell and six other illustrations, portrait frontispiece included; 163 pages
✓ Binding: buff cloth, spine lettered in gilt
✓ Dust jacket: cream, photograph of the spaniel on a stool, “With four Original Drawings by Vanessa Bell and six other Illustrations”, “The Hogarth Press” at the foot
✓ Price: “Large Paper Edition 7/6 net” (7 shillings 6 pence) on the front panel and the spine (unclipped); the second impression kept it, so the price alone doesn’t prove a first
