How to identify this edition

These points tell this edition apart from other printings and editions of To The Lighthouse.

✓ Title page: TO THE LIGHTHOUSE / VIRGINIA WOOLF, then the Hogarth wolf's-head device directly below the author's name with no line between them, and at the foot "Published by Leonard & Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth Press, 52 Tavistock Square, London, W.C. 1927"

✓ Verso of the title page: blank except for "Printed in Great Britain by R. & R. Clark, Limited, Edinburgh" at the foot

✓ Binding: blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt ("Hogarth Press" at the foot), nothing on the front board; 320 pp., crown 8vo

✓ Dust jacket: designed by Vanessa Bell — cream paper, the lighthouse and its beam in black with pale-blue waves inside a scalloped black border

✓ Price: 7/6 (7 shillings 6 pence) printed on the jacket spine; later impressions used the same jacket, so the price alone doesn't prove a first
